Pupil Voice

Pupil Voice

At Thornton we feel it is important to listen to our pupils and value their opinions. The voice of the children is crucial in shaping our school and curriculum . We endeavour to give all children lots of opportunities to share their thoughts and opinions and play an active role in the decisions that affect their learning and well-being.

We believe that everyone’s voice should be heard which is why we have established various groups within school. We also want to provide opportunities for our pupils to develop their leadership skills, be confident and work collaboratively with the teaching teams within school.

Junior Leaders

These are elected representatives from each class who meet regularly to discuss issues. Please check out the Junior Leadership tab to meet the team and find out more.

Head Boy and Head Girl

Children in Year 6 are invited to apply for these roles.  The children deliver speeches to other children throughout school and everybody has an opportunity to vote for their favourite candidate. The head girl and head boy act as role models for other students through demonstrating exceptional behaviour, attitude and enthusiasm.

Digital Leaders

Digital Leaders are selected for their advanced skills and for being role models in our school. They help plan computing events in school.
