Reading is given a high priority at Thornton and children have regular opportunities to read. We provide the foundation of reading through phonics and children in EYFS and KS1 follow the FFT Success for All Phonics programme.

Reading Spine
We aim to instil a love of reading in all children and we want our children to read for pleasure. Our reading spine is intended to offer our children a core bank of texts that ensures they experience a range of high-quality texts and authors during their time at Thornton.
